- Splitting and reassembling files is non-destructive. When splitting, the original file is never deleted or altered. When reassembling, the file parts are not removed.
- If you are distributing the split file parts, you must provide a copy of the freeware assembler utility (Assembler.exe) so that users can reassemble the parts into a single file. The assembler requires a 32-bit Windows® operating system.
- When distributing split files, make sure you include all the parts. If one or more parts are missing when the file is reassembled, the rebuilt file may be unusable.
- Do not rename the file parts or alter their numeric extensions. The name and numeric extensions are used by the Assembler to rebuild the file.
